The SocialFi "Yay!" integrates with Worldcoin’s World ID to boost the adoption of web3

Providing a secure community place with World ID’s private authentication

The virtual world "Yay!" where anyone can express themselves (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takahiro Ishihama) today announced an integration with World ID, a digital passport that allows individuals to verify they are human online while preserving their privacy, embedded in the Worldcoin network. By integrating with World ID through the developer API, Yay! aims to accelerate the adoption of web3 in Japan and globally.

World ID is a secure, permissionless protocol that empowers millions of individuals to prove they’re unique and human online while preserving their privacy. It doesn’t require personal information such as name, phone number, or email. With World ID, individuals can sign in to web, mobile, and decentralized applications, and privately confirm their humanness – verified by the orb to obtain a high level of assurance.

Since its launch in January 2020, Yay! has been utilized by over 8 million people as a "virtual world to connect through interests." With this integration between Yay! and World ID, both existing and new users will be able to explore new possibilities in web3 while using the platform safely and efficiently. Furthermore, Yay! plans to build a token economy both within and outside the service as a part of its web3 features. This integration is expected to provide a foundation that will allow more users worldwide to experience new innovaitons.

Through the integration, Yay! users can now choose and connect World ID as their account storage (integration method). By leveraging Worldcoin’s advanced authentication technology, Yay! will be able to help protect users' accounts, prevent unauthorized access and account takeovers by bots, and create a secure platform for real users to engage with confidence.
